Belmont-Ferry Farm Trail

The Belmont-Ferry Farm Trail project was located in Fredericksburg, Virginia, along River Road between John Lee Pratt Memorial Park and Kings Highway. DMY provided geotechnical and drilling services. The asphalt pedestrian trail was proposed to be approximately 0.5 miles in length and would traverse extensive wetland areas. Two segmental retaining walls, approximately 2 to 5 feet high, were planned to support the sloping alignment of the trail at the south terminus. Numerous drainage culvert crossings were included as part of the trail project. As part of DMY’s geotechnical investigation, twenty-one test borings were drilled to depths of 5 to 30 feet within the trail alignment.
