Prince William County Salt Storage Facility

This project involved construction of a new salt storage facility at 9320 Mosby Street, Manassas, VA. A new asphalt surfaced and (rigid) concrete surfaced parking lot was constructed as part of the project. DMY was hired to provide California Bearing Ratio (CBR) testing for design of the pavement for the new salt storage facility. The existing site had originally served as a storage yard. For DMY’s investigation, we performed hand augering in the parking area to depths of 3 to 4 feet below existing grade. Bulk samples were obtained for one (1) CBR test. We transported the bulk sample to our laboratory and performed the CBR testing.
