DC Water – Secondary Treatment Facility Upgrades ENR – North, Washington, DC

This $60 million project consisted of the construction of upgrades to the advanced wastewater treatment plant, secondary treatment, and dual-purpose sedimentation facilities. The major components of the project included Secondary Reactor upgrades, Secondary Blower upgrades, Secondary Sedimentation Basin upgrades, Dual Purpose Sedimentation Basin upgrades, and Concrete Repairs.

DMY provided two scopes of services on this project: Concrete Condition Assessment Survey and Quality Control Testing. DMY performed the Condition Assessment Survey of all concrete distresses in the tunnel and walkway areas. DMY engineers and technicians performed the survey of the existing structures for all the cracks, spalls, broken joints, scaling, exposed rebars, and other distresses and produced the drawings, sketches, and summaries. DMY also tested soil compaction and concrete for the renovation of the existing structures.
