PROJECT COMPLETION

2018

After two historic floods, Ellicott City leaders undertook a significant project to restore and stabilize a part of the Little Patuxent River in the City. The stream restoration project involved grading stream banks and adding control structures to prevent further eroding along the city’s river banks. DMY’s work involved geotechnical investigations for culverts and a water loop along Ellicott Mills Drive.

Ellicott Mills Drive Culvert Extension

  • The project site was the culvert crossing of Ellicott Mills Drive, just north of Frederick Road. The work involved a new 100-ft long culvert for the roadway crossing.

Ellicott Mills Drive Water Loop

  • The project involved the completion of the water main loop between Ellicott Mills Drive and Milltowne Road. Upon completion, the project provided a secondary loop to Burgess Mill station and increased the reliability of the water system in the area.

DMY provided geotechnical services on this project, including field subsurface exploration, laboratory testing (soil and chemical testing), and preparation of boring logs
